* AUTO ELECTRICIAN or TRANSPORT TECHNICIAN - either qualified or seeking a future within this field. Carrying our diagnostics, repairs & installations. Fitting new systems, accessories and safety equipment. Wiring, hydraulics and plumbing, all form part of this role

* AUTOMOTIVE PAINTER - Someone willing to learn the 'ins and outs' involved with the preparation and painting of trucks and trailers and work their way up within the role. If you are already skilled within this field we would also been keen to talk

* A WORKSHOP JUNIOR (with the opportunity to move into an apprenticeship) - Every workshop needs a ''Junior". You would be starting right at the beginning and no two days will be the same. What better way to start the working week. Fuel the team up on sugar and some friendly competition. The team spend their weekend cooking up a storm for our 'Sweet Treats' baking competition. Apparently engineering isn't all our team can do'well! Our thanks to out guest judges - Rangi and Wayne, for putting their waists & teeth on the line to determine the winning entries.

Noted was the unsubtle bribery that went on from the back workshop, placing fleet photos and amber bottles of liquid with their entry!! Well played!!

Last night senior management had the pleasure of attending the 2026 TradeQual Awards at the Ascot Park Hotel. These awards celebrate newly qualified tradespeople and recognize those that have achieved NZQA Level 4 qualifications and above. Part of the criteria is that the new tradespeople are working for a Southland employer. Congratulations again to Josh Chirnside, Daniel Wilson, Brad Evans and Lily Hayward who were presented a certificate acknowledging their success on behalf of the business community by the Mayors of Southland and the Southland Business Chamber. Well done team! We are proud of your success and happy to have you as part of the TEAM!! ... See MoreSee Less

At TES we pride ourselves on our staff and our team! 2025 saw four of our staff complete their apprenticeships and they now work with us as fully qualified tradesmen and woman.

We believe in bringing people up through the ranks and this starts often at the beginning. As such we are seeking expressions of interest from those that think engineering or an auto electrical role might be their future, with the potential to later move into an apprenticeship.

If you or someone you know is interested and wants to discuss opportunities further email wendy@tes.co.nz
